“The universe is not only stranger than we imagine,
it is stranger than we can imagine.”
– Sir Arthur Eddington,
This personal project began as an experiment with AI tools, imagining what happens when machines try to “think” in stories. What emerged is both a concept film and a commentary on the creative process itself.
AI is still in its early days and full of promise as a teacher, collaborator, and problem solver. But it often mirrors the biases of the culture that shaped it. When I began experimenting, I noticed prompts like astronaut, rider, or gunslinger defaulted to white male characters. This realization guided the project’s central choice; to reveal the protagonist as female, subverting both the AI’s assumptions and our own.
The absurdity of this world reflects how civilization remains trapped in cycles where, no matter how far we travel, we carry the same struggles with us. Space exploration becomes a metaphor for our relationship with AI: it can only advance us if it also helps us grow in values.
This film is my attempt to push AI beyond its default male archetypes, nudging it toward more expansive representations. By leaning into familiar Western and Sci-Fi tropes, the story builds a recognizable journey, only to flip it on its head.
I created it with MidJourney, Pika, Luma, Photoshop and Runway, this project is both an ode to the music that inspired it and a reimagining of the hero’s tale for the age of AI.
