ocean warriors
Part Time Heroes is a short documentary exploring the people who choose to protect our oceans when no one else will.
The film follows a diverse group of Sea Shepherd volunteers from around the world who put their lives on the line to enforce international conservation law on the open ocean — a space that remains largely lawless under the U.N. World Charter for Nature.
Set against the backdrop of overfishing and climate change, I conceived and crafted the documentary as a story of ordinary people driven by a shared belief that defending the oceans is essential to protecting life as we know it. .
The film was released by CNN’s Great Big Story, extending its reach beyond traditional NGO audiences. It screened at international festivals including the St. Louis International Film Festival — an Academy Award–qualifying event — and the 45th NW Filmmakers’ Festival, and was recognised as a Vimeo Staff Pick.
