UNESCO World Heritage
More than 80% of the world’s population lives under light-polluted skies; a barrier preventing us from experiencing the beauty of the cosmos. The Dutch city of Franeker brought back to the stars to their streets by switching off all the lights in its city, in a collaborative effort leading creative production and editorial content with UNESCO Netherlands and Studio Roosegaarde.
Seeing Stars invites cities worldwide to follow as UNESCO Netherlands aims to recognize the stars as a form of universal heritage. The film was rewarded at the Lovies Awards with silver in Science, Education & Health and bronze in Live Experiences and picked up by editorial outlets nationwide.
